The Spring Visit on Sunday 8th June is to the Kislingbury Herd. Our hosts, the Elliott family, run a farmer/butchers enterprise from five holdings located within a five mile radius of the village of Kislingbury in South Northants, with 1200 acres of permanent pasture, 1200 breeding ewes and 400 head of cattle.
The Shorthorn herd was started in 2009 and then boosted in 2011 with the purchase of the entire Gaddesden Herd from Nick Halsey. Both the Shorthorns and also the South Devon Herd have won their respective area herd competitions.
The visit will commence at 10.30am with coffee at Church Farm, Litchborough. There is no postcode. The village is approx five miles south/west of Weedon. The Farm is accessed from the Lichborough to Farthingstone Road. After a mornings viewing of both pedigree and cross bred stock, the Club will move on to a “ bit of a social”, including a barbeque, at The Homestead, Kislingbury, NN7 4AJ.
Can you please confirm your attendance to me by no later than the 1st June, so farm transport and catering numbers can be confirmed.
