Beef Student of the Year winner, Orla Kelly receives her reward from Beef Shorthorn Society’s, Geoff Riby and QMS’ Stuart Ashworth
Inaugural Beef Shorthorn Society award goes to Queen’s University’s and CAFRE’s Orla Kelly
Orla Kelly, a second year student studying BSc (Hons) Agricultural Technology, at Queen’s University Belfast and CAFRE is the winner of the inaugural Beef Student of the Year award presented by the Beef Shorthorn Society. She received the £2,000 award in Edinburgh this week, whilst the university she represented was presented with £1,000 towards a beef educational project.

Can you help? Mr. Werner Lampert, Austria, who has published the coffe-table-book "Unberührte Schönheit. Reisen zu den ursprünglichsten Kühen der Welt“ (which means "Pristine Beauty. Journeys to the most original cows in the world“) is planning a trip to the UK to photograph Shorthorn cattle in March. He would like to talk to members in the South West of the Country.
